Hi guys, so I had an interview with potential PI who I want to work in his lab for PhD. We had a fruitful discussion on skype and even discussed potential projects. He then told me he needs to get references from my CV referees before we discuss further. Its been over a week now. Do you think I should send him a gentle reminder. ( He hardly reply mails, so calling could be the option). What's your opinion guys?

So I contacted a potential supervisor yesterday on phone to discuss possible graduate supervision. He told me to send an email with my profile so that we can discuss. He hasn't replied my email since. When do you guys think I should send him a gentle reminder or call him. P.S. I have notices he's very busy and doesn't check his mails regularly. Need your advice guys!

Hi guys, after five weeks of my phd application review, I mailed the program coord as to the timing of a departmental decision. Was told to expect one on the 3rd of October. I was surprised at the definite date I was given. Anyone think this is something odd.............

Just got a rejection today for the phd position interviews. The PI said I didn't rank first in the interviews as its a single project. Quite sad but I go again. Thanks Guys. Cheers!!

so i got a phd position invite from the supervisor of the project stating ''many thanks for your application. we have gone through all (insert number) applications and yours has been selected for the second round. we hope you would be available for the skype meeting at times so-so. Many thanks in advance and our best wishes''. I have done the interview and i feel i performed quite well. My question is does this mean that i was the only one invited for the interview? also how can i predict the decision of the committee. im told to expect a decision in a weeks time. thanks guys.

hi guys, i am applying for the Warwick postgraduate (PhD) research scholarships at the university of Warwick, school of life sciences. i bagged an MSc distinction (85% in project,the best in my faculty) at the university of Greenwich. i also had a bachelors degree with a high 2:1 back in my home country, Nigeria. i already got a supervisor at warwick who is very keen to support my application. I also have two publications in decent peer-reviewed Intl journals. I know the scholarships are highly competitive but what are my chances guys, I am really anxious here. anticipating your honest replies
